Alex TLC

Oversaw the posting of content to the charity’s social media accounts to help their followers (3,000+ people on Facebook, 1,000+ people on Twitter / X) stay up-to-date with the latest scientific developments, charity news, fundraising opportunities and community-recommended advice - including during a major rebranding from ALD Life (centred around providing support only to those affected by AMN and ALD) to Alex TLC (providing support for all leukodystrophies).

Alongside writing text for social media posts, I would also create images to go with them that would include glanceable information such as quotes, key figures etc. This required me to condense often-times confusing medical jargon into something that was accessible to more people. The aim was to increase engagement with the wider leukodystrophy community alongside providing meaningful information at scale. My work here helped to establish a tone and presentation style that remains today, long after I left.

Above: some examples of my graphic design work that would be posted to Facebook alongside text News content.

This is an past volunteer role, which I carried out from July 2019 until June 2021.
